The Australian desert around Uluru is perhaps one of the best places in the world to explore the galaxy of stars in the night sky. The low humidity and minimal light pollution in the Red Centre allow you to view the stars and planets like you've never seen them before. Celebrating the vast outback night sky, Ayers Rock Resort's Astronomy Weekend held 22 to 24 August will present a fitting close to National Science Week. Devoted to providing insights into astronomy, led by popular scientific personality Dr Karl Kruszelnicki and some of the world's leading experts, the weekend will include discussion sessions on astro-statistics, the structure of the cosmos, a Gala Star Ball and more. It will provide those already familiar with the night sky new insights and for those new to astronomy an excellent introduction. Other special events will include an exclusive Astronomical Sounds of Silence dinner experience.
