DO Indigenous culture

Visit the Nyinkka Nyunyu Art and Culture Centre, go on a guided tour through the centre before journeying out into the gardens to learn about bush tucker and traditional medicines. Stop for a coffee on your way out and check out the shop where local artwork, crafts and books can be purchased.

DO Gold fever

Pop in to the Battery Hill Mining Centre showing working examples of some of the machinery used in the early years of the mining industry, as well as life during the 1930s gold rush. There are two museums and an optional underground mine tour, plus the opportunity for visitors to fossick for (and keep) gold.

DO Saddle Up

Saddle up and experience outback Australia on horseback. At Kelly's Ranch you can ride the Barkly Tablelands around Tennant Creek under the guidance of a traditional Aboriginal owner. No experience is needed - there's a suitable steed for all ages and levels of riding experience
