The Desert Harmony Festival is the Barkly communities major event. The Festival programs a diversity of artistic and cultural performances celebrating the Barkly's Indigenous and multicultural community.

The Festival covers all genres from music, art, media, film, theatre, dance, spoken word, workshops and bush dinners. It is a showcase of local performers, touring professional artists and arts companies and community access and participation. The Festival is the region's true 'experience seeking' event that gives you an abundance of knowledge and accessibility into the community.

Major works include: Melbourne City Ballet (dance), Opera Australia (music), Saltbush (Theatre), Barkly Area Music Festival (BAMFest), Arts Culture Experience Day.
