Meet Manuel and learn about Aboriginal Culture. Paint your own rarrk painting using a reed brush, light a fire and throw a spear using a woomera.

Located at Top Didj and Art Gallery, on the way to Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk), the Cultural Experience offers a genuine Aboriginal experience where you sit and listen to Manual Pamkal, winner of the Tourism NT Brolga award 2013, for outstanding interpretive guide. Manuel will welcome you with a traditional tune on his didgeridoo, then tell his story of growing up in the bush. Next Manuel will show you how to paint a Rarrk (cross hatching) painting using a reed brush (Jalk). After the painting you get to try your hand at fire lighting and spear throwing with a woomera. You will also get the chance to get close and personal with wallabies.

You can select from a large range of didgeridoos, authentic Aboriginal artwork, boomerangs, dilly bags, clap sticks, carvings and souvenirs. Being a member of Art Trade, Top Didj is strongly committed to nurturing emerging talent and promoting Aboriginal art in an ethical way.

Tour duration is between 2 to 2.5 hours.
