Paint a fridge, glitter up an esky, get dramatic, make music, write a poem, or sing at the fortnight-long festival that honours more than the fridge.
Darwin Fridge Festival encourages and supports people to make recycled art using old refrigerators and turning them into fine pieces of art. In 2014, Darwin Fridge Festival celebrates its fifth year of existence and will be held from Saturday 25th October to Sunday 2nd November 2014 at Darwin Waterfront with additional exhibition at Darwin International Airport and workshops at Malak Shopping Centre.
The festival has a unique Territorian theme and its main motto in 2014 is: "Be a part of it, make art" which encourages everyone to get involved. Make the most of your festival experience and participate in exhibitions, workshops, on-line installations, projections and public forum.
This year the festival offers cash prizes of total $4,800 and other prizes (specifically for schools and youth) of $2,200 value for the best artworks.
