The Darwin International Film Festival (DIFF) is an event produced by the Darwin Film Society (DFS) and Deckchair Cinema team. The annual event shows 12 films over 8 nights from across the globe representing a variety of international countries and genre; and includes Australian Film Premieres.
The Darwin International Film Festival, or DIFF, brings the latest in international films to Darwin over 8 luscious Top End nights and 12 screenings.
DIFF is held at Deckchair Cinema, Darwin's premier outdoor cinema and a quintessential Territory experience. Waterfront views on Darwin Harbour tropical sunsets are the perfect beginning to a night of film under the stars, and the ideal place to soak up the selection of alternative films from all over the world.
DIFF will broaden to include a series of workshops, screen culture talks and pop up screenings around Darwin city in 2014.
The Festival is operated by the Darwin Film Society (DFS) whose mission is to provide alternative film experiences not normally available to Darwin locals and visitors. DFS is a not-for-profit organisation that has been screening programs in the NT since 1974 and successfully operating Deckchair Cinema since 1994.
