There's plenty to chirp about as you get to know the NT's plumed inhabitants a bit better through a host of activities at Alice Springs Desert Park.

The Red Centre Bird Festival is your chance to get to know the Northern Territory's plumed inhabitants better.

Filled with diverse habitats, the Red Centre is a haven for birds. They hide in spinifex, dance around waterholes and soar over rocky ranges. There's plenty to chirp about during the Red Centre Bird Festival with the Big Bird race, Sunset Bird walkabouts as well as presentations by 2 popular birding personalities. Tim Low, author and biologist will discuss his new book "Where Song Began" and naturalist and filmmaker Simon Cherriman presents his documentary "Where do Eagles dare?"
