Uluru Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre
Arrive in Yulara and check in to your accommodation. Start with a visit to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to learn about the national park from its traditional Aboriginal owners, the Anangu. While you're there, go to Maruku Arts to see colourful dot paintings and wood carvings made by indigenous artists from the local community. Spend the evening at the Ayers Rock Observatory exploring the heavens through a telescope.

Uluru walks
Start early this morning and trek around Uluru. This easy-going walk does a complete loop around the 9.8-kms base and takes around three to four hours to complete. Interpretive signs tell the stories of Kuniya (the woma python) and Liru (the poisonous snake man); ancestral beings that helped shape this spiritual place. This afternoon, find a good vantage point to witness the changing colours of the desert as the sun sets on Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Kata Tjuta
Spend the day exploring the 36 huge domes that make up Kata Tjuta. Start off with a visit to the dune viewing area for sweeping panoramic views of the landscape. For an easy trek try the Walpa Gorge Walk. The 2.6-kms path meanders over ochre rock through a gorge created by two of the domes. Retire to the Outback Pioneer Bar, at Ayers Rock Resort, for some outback entertainment and cuisine. Choose from meat, chicken or seafood and cook it to your liking on the barbecues provided.

Uluru and Yulara
Rise early and head to the Frontier Camel Farm in Yulara. Ride a camel through red sand dunes as the sun slowly rises over the horizon. Finish up the morning with billy tea and damper. This afternoon, meet your outgoing flight or continue on to Alice Springs to continue exploring Central Australia.
